#852 (Marsh 1001)
I Didn't Know I Loved You (Til I Saw You Rock and Roll)/ Play At Your Own Risk by Planet Patrol

Label: Tommy Boy 837 Year: 1983
Condition: M $25.00
I Didn't Know I Loved You (Til I Saw You Rock and Roll)/ Play At Your Own RiskFrom a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. To quote Dave Marsh in his description of this entry in his list of the 1001 greatest singles,
In which hip-hop's best production team expropriates a trash-rock gem by Gary Glitter... and by adding to its quintessential nothingness 57 varieties of electronic effects, mostly percussiv, make something approaching Art with a modicum of real passion.

The A side is an edited version of the much longer (7:15) album cut, and the flip is a previously unreleased a cappella version of another tune from the album.
